Our D/A Street Software program was designed for both the stock as well as
the slightly modified E46 M3s. The data used to create this program came as
the result of comparing various CAI and exhaust systems during both controlled
dyno testing and even more importantly “as the result of real time driving
exercises”. The testing and data collected included both cat back and header
back exhaust systems.

When your DME is shipped into Discovery Automotive you will also be required
to furnish a build sheet aka a complete list of the modifications as completed
on your car and then we will confirm that the software being loaded will provi-de
the ultimate results.

For those of you that are Dyno-nuts let us stop you right here. Discovery
Automotive does not tune for a Dyno number and yet we understand how important
a number is to some of you. The reality is there is only approximately 10hp
to gain as the result of software tweaking on the basic E46 M3; higher power
gains “REQUIRE” additional hardware and often times internal engine modifications.
Therefore our goal was to simply create the greatest driving experience which
comes as the result of improved throttle response, a crisper, stronger, and
longer power curve which is produced as the result of modified A/F, timing,
etc., and then of course we feel that the results are the greatest torque and
resulting HP possible without any compromises.
In addition to the tweaks mentioned above as the result of the request from
all; we have made the modifications necessary to allow for maximum top speed
runs and a REV limiter increase to 8200 RPM.

like about the D/A software was the removal of the speed limiter at
155mph. I had a chance to wring the car out on the way back from Santa
Barbara late the other night. The car pulls increadibily strong through
5th gear to the new redline at 8250rpm. Shifting at 8250 on the 5-6
shift really puts you a better place pulling 6th. The extra midgrange
power from the chip is a nice thing to have here." |
As a compliment to the street version of our software we also offer
our D/A Race software which include several other tweaks designed specifically
for the off-road enthusiast. A few of these tweaks include rear O2 delete for
those that use small metal bed cats or straight pipes and desire to eliminate
the SES light from being triggered. We also increase the idle speed slightly
to eliminate the often times referred to “Transmission Roll-over” noise commonly
found when a light weight flywheel assembly is installed.

**If you do not have catalectic converters Race Software will
not help you pass emissions. Under no circumstances does Discovery-Automotive
condone the street usage of non smog compliant vehicles.
DME units that need to be reflashed will not be charged full price but a discounted
rate of $150 plus shipping to cover the labor involved.
Upgrades from Street to Race are $275 for existing clients.
The software is non-transferable and not for resale.
