BackMaltese Falcon: Phase Two

Phase Two

Now we will be integrating an OEM appearing custom V-1 harness as well as an iPod interface.

Here we have very carefully removed the OEM Macintosh radio so as to garner access to the RCA inputs that will become the means to integrate a portion of the iPod harness.

Here we are methodically disassembling the front portion of the OEM headliner so as to be able to integrate a custom OEM appearing harness for the V-1 unit.

It was during this phase that we also completed the integrating of the custom vacuum boost gauge as created by Michael aka FreeFlyer. This gauge allows for monitoring of the increased boost as produced by the Whipple supercharger whereas the OEM gauge only allowed for readings up to 15 PSI when in fact the system will now be able to operate up to 20 PSI.
Here we are carefully and methodically integrating the custom vacuum/boost gauge. Once the system was fully integrated and associated with the new 3 bar MAP sensor that we mounted on the custom polish billet bracket alongside of the Whipple supercharger the system was brought on line to confirm that it operates properly.

Now we are going to complete the integrating of the iPod adapter and then reassemble her interior.
here we have integrated the latest version of the iPod adapters; this one will allow for charging of all know versions of the iPod.

Here we have reassembled her interior; at this stage she is not only looking great but she also very close to being exercised again.

The next phase will be to flush and bleed her hydraulic systems and then complete the plastic wrapping of her high risk areas before she is taken out to play.
We are now completing the process involved with the painting of the calipers and the powder coating of her wheels.
Here we have fully integrated the calipers during which time we installed new brake pads and all new OEM hardware.

Here she is on her new shoes and being moved to the clean room as she is now ready to have her high risk painted surfaces wrapped.

Once she completes the processes associated with the wrapping of her high risk painted surfaces she will then be exercised as the means to confirm that she is ready to travel to the Ford GT Rally and participate in all of the events.
Now we will be methodically tending to the protecting of her high risk painted surfaces. During this phase we wash and clay bar the surfaces as well as micro polish those areas in need of additional attention prior to wrapping the surfaces. The process that we use leaves no visible seams and wherever possible we completely wrap/roll the edges so that once in place it appears to all but those in the know as if nothing has been done and yet there is significant peace of mind in knowing that her painted surfaces are protected from typical day to day damage.
Here she is being treated to the methodical processes associated with the wrapping of her high risk painted surfaces.

Now that the project as defined has been completed we will be taking her for a drive/ to be exercised so as to confirm that she is happy and in our opinion mechanically ready to travel and participate in the events at the Ford GT Rally.
The day has arrived for this gal to be loaded for her journey to the Ford GT Rally at which time she will be reunited with her family. As with all projects it is wonderful to have them completed and yet sad to see the gals leave as we leave a bit us within each gal. For us the upside is in knowing how excited her family is to have her home and how much they will enjoy her at the rally.
