As we continue through the final stages of this project an exhaustive amount of time (no play on words) has been spent completing the custom exhaust and the associated panels needed to create a truly integrated system that maintains an OEM feel and appearance as well as retains the ease of future servicing. Then add to this component of the project two more of the many personal touch items have been completed and installed.
Here are the custom carbon fiber seat harness bezels as created by Kip; they fit perfectly and look stunning.
Here is the new custom carbon fiber wicker as created by Kip; the decision was made to paint all but the carbon fiber leading edge as if OEM thus leaving the carbon fiber leading edge to compliment the previously installed carbon fiber rear window trim surround on the clamshell.
Here we are completing the final fitting of the custom exhaust; once the exhaust was cinched in position for the final time we then removed the rear fascia so as to be able to integrate the custom center screen through which the tips extend.
Here is the custom CNC machined center screen being created then powder coated and integrated into the rear fascia; the pattern throughout the center screen it is as if OEM however the opening design through which the exhaust tips will protrude was selected as it is similar to the original race winning Ford GT40 of the 1960's.
Here the custom rear lower screen freshly powder coated as if OEM is being made ready for the final installation; during this process we installed the OEM license plate lights and are integrating the OEM wiring harnesses as well as installed a pair of OEM nutserts that will be used to retain the license plate. We still need to install the custom shroud that will cover the back side of the license plate lights as well as the associated wiring eliminating secondary light from being shown other than at the license plate as well as create a finished and OEM appearance.
Here she is with her custom exhaust, custom rear wicker, and all supporting hardware in position and secured for the last time. Now all that remains is for us to install her custom rear lower screen and then her rear under body panels after which she will ready to be exercised. There is no doubt that with all that has been tended to during the past couple months that her owner is anxiously awaiting this day to arrive.
We are now tending to the final details as associated with this project specifically the custom shroud for the back side of the OEM license plate lights created to insure that the OEM license plate lights do not shine light throughout her engine bay but rather only at the license plate as designed and at the same time we will complete the integration of the OEM license plate lights wiring harness after which we will install her new custom lower rear screen for the last time. During this process we will take great care to make adjust the rear fascia so that the results are a crisp fit will wonderful body lines.
Here we are completing the integrating of the custom lower rear screen and confirming that the primary and secondary lighting all works as designed.
Over the past few years we have had the pleasure of massaging this gal from stem to stern with each step bringing her closer to her owner's "Dream Realized" and at the same time we have made her appear, sound, and run as if from days gone past.
