BackTestarossa: Phase Three

Phase Three

Now that we have her heart out we will move forward with the integrating of D/A's custom traction control system. The process to integrate the system which includes the creating of the many custom wiring harness is in excess of 40 hours. Because we integrate rather than add on we open/unsheathe many of the OEM wiring harnesses and then incorporate the custom wiring harnesses within and then rewrap them so as to appear as if never touched.

Here is the custom clutch switch assembly; this switch is a key part of the launch control and full throttle shifting features.

Here we have protected her nose because we will be working within her boot area and want to insure that no secondary damage is caused.

Here we are integrating the primary control module and the custom differential amp for D/A's custom traction control system. We mount the primary control module to appear as if OEM and then use vibration isolators as part of the integration so as to insure that typical transient vibration causes no issues.

Here are many of the custom wiring harnesses set into place within her boot area. They still need to be properly routed and then secured so as to appear as if OEM.

Here the tedious process of integrating the ABS portion of D/A's custom traction is being completed. Great care is taken to integrate and create a daughter harness. The signals that will travel from the custom daughter wiring harness to the custom differential amp will be carried via CAT 7 cable so as to insure a noise free signal thus insuring a crisp and consistent operating system.

Here the process of partially removing the SJB aka Smart Junction Box is being completed so that several of the custom wiring harnesses can be routed into her boot area. There are 5 custom wiring harnesses that are passed through into her boot area and to accomplish this we place two small holes in the vertical panel behind the SJB and the insert 2 OEM rubber grommets to insure that the custom wiring harnesses are not damaged and also to create an OEM appearing integration. Once all of the custom wiring harnesses were routed the SJB area was reassembled and then the secondary power leads were labeled thus completing this area except for installation of the moisture barrier and primary foot well cover which we will do once the systems are brought on line and tested.

Here is the custom under the dash wiring harness completed now ready to be properly routed, secured, and then plugged in.

In addition to primary projects being shared sadly this gal arrived with a DOA water temperature gauge and a custom A/F gauge that needed a little attention as such they were removed and one, specifically the OEM water temperature gauge will be replaced and the other simply tended to.
Here the careful process of removing the custom carbon fiber instrument surround and associated gauges is being completed.
